Cortez Vaughn

At the young age of 10, I received Christ. I remember giving God my all early in life. As I grew up in church I developed a love for the assembly of the people of God. Even as a child, missing church service was very upsetting to me, and if there was any reason that I had to miss I would stay up just to hear how service went. As a third-generation senior pastor, my grandfather and father are my greatest ministry mentors and role models.

When I was 17 years old, I became the music minister for our family’s fast-growing church, eventually becoming associate pastor and senior pastor. I began to feel the hand of God shift me and speak to me concerning what He needed me to give and do for the people in my community. I did not want to be the person who denied God’s call and run from Him. Instead, when I heard His call, I jumped in head first and was so happy that He chose me.

Since then, God has blessed me to earn several degrees including a degree in Biblical Studies from Faith Theological Seminary. I continue to be amazed and humbled at God’s love and favor toward me. As a minister of worship, God’s gift in my life has been used to bring tens of thousands of people together in song across the nation and the continents on various platforms.

As a pastor, it is important to me that God’s people get a thorough understanding of His Word and plan for their lives through sound teaching, powerful worship and meaningful fellowship. I truly believe and live by the idea that God’s grace and love for us proves that our destiny is more important than our disaster and our purposes more than our pitfalls.

My greatest joy in life is my family. I’m the proud father of three gifted and beautiful children: Elizabeth Grace, Jackie Sir Tez and Sir Trenton Cortez – they are the center of my heart. We genuinely enjoy doing life and ministry together.

God’s love is amazing to us, and I am honored to continue to serve in leadership.
